HVS’s Top Five Movies Where Nature is the Star – or At Least the Co-Star

Some movies are all about the acting, some are all about the story. And some combine them with beautiful on-location scenery. In honor of spring we visit HVS’s Top Five Movies Where Nature is the Star – or At Least the Co-Star.

The Sound of Music – Who can forget Maria dancing in a green meadow surrounded by the Bavarian Alps? Stunning.

Lord of the Rings – – Filmed in the natural beauty of New Zealand, many of the scenes did not use any digital enhancements and are as beautiful in person as they are in the movie.

Braveheart – This movie wouldn’t have been the same without the freedom inspiring sweeping, mountainous landscapes of the Scottish Highlands.

Life of Pi – Nature in all her glory (and fury) from the weather, to the ocean, to the pets.

Blue Lagoon – OK, the acting wasn’t that great, but the tropical paradise makes us all wonder what it would be like to start a new civilization there.
